Players and Coaches I've Worked With

It’s been great to see Willson Contreras build such a successful career with multiple organizations.

I first met Willson in 2013 when we were both with the Chicago Cubs. He was a young minor leaguer and catcher, working hard every day toward the goal of reaching the big leagues.

Although he primarily plays first base now, he was once a catcher, and I was fortunate enough to work with him on all the details that come with the position—receiving, blocking, throwing, footwork, and the mental side of catching.

One thing that always stood out was his passion for the game and his desire to keep getting better.

Proud to have been a small part of his journey, and I hope he never loses that passion. ⚾️

TWO JOURNEYS. TWO DREAMS. ONE INCREDIBLE REWARD.

Justin Steele established himself as a bona fide Major League starter and earned an All-Star selection along the way. Having had the opportunity to work with him at three different levels of the minor leagues and watch his continued growth has been truly gratifying. Seeing that development translate to success at the highest level is one of the most rewarding parts of coaching.

Erick Castillo was a catcher in the Cubs organization whom I also had the pleasure of working with. Watching him achieve his dream of becoming a Major League catcher was exciting and a testament to his determination and refusal to give up.

These are the moments that make coaching special. Being part of a player’s journey, helping them develop, and watching them reach their dreams is what it’s all about.

Proud to have been a small part of both journeys. The work, the perseverance, and the belief in the process matter.
